New Art From Salmon River CSD Added to OIE Student Art Gallery
On December 2, 2024, the Office of Indigenous Education added nine new Indigenous student artworks from Salmon River High School's Studio Art and Graphic Design classes to theÌýOIE Art Gallery page.
The artworks were sent to the OIE team by Layla Mayville, art teacher from Salmon River Central School District. They include eight illustrations and translations of Indigenous student names created in Studio Art class, as well as a digital drawing recognizing the Every Child Matters movement created on a Wacom graphics tablet in the Graphic Design class.Ìý
Indigenous student artwork submissions are always welcomed by the OIE team throughout the school year, and students interested in having their artwork displayed among the OIE gallery can ask their teachers to forward their works toÌýIndigenousEducation@nysed.gov.Ìý
