“Today, our nation must try to understand and come to terms with the unimaginable, unbearable tragedy of yet another mass shooting, this time at a school in Florida. Our schools must always be safe havens – places where students and their teachers are free to learn and to teach, to laugh, and to continually grow together. We pray for those whose lives were lost today, for those who are injured physically and emotionally, and for everyone impacted by today’s horrific events. May we all grow stronger and wiser and may we as a nation learn that violence and hate must always yield to peace, inclusiveness, and love.”
