“Every student deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive in mathematics and science so they may explore what interests them and succeed in school, career, and life,” Board of Regents Chancellor Lester W. Young, Jr. said. “In our increasingly diverse state, we need exceptional teachers like Leslie Anson and Lynda Brannan who are unflagging in their dedication to all students and serve as mentors, lifting up the educators around them and providing a model for others to emulate.”
“Our teachers know there is no one-size-fits-all approach to teaching and learning and these award winners have implemented innovative, engaging ways to get young people excited about STEM,” said Commissioner Rosa. “These talented educators found the right formula to set ambitious goals, create space for exploration, and work with students to develop problem-solving strategies.”
