Early Learning Center - PK - 3rd grade
NYSSD Staff works closely with parents to provide an integrated learning environment. We work together with parents to reach their child’s communication and educational goals.
- Language-rich program provided by an academic team with vast experience working with students with significant hearing loss

Total Communication Program
- The Total Communication incorporates spoken English, ASL, and other communication systems based on each child’s primary mode of communication.
- ASL instruction
- Deaf peers & Deaf adults as role models

- Small Class sizes
- Acoustically appropriate classrooms
- Sound field and personal FM systems
- Physical education 3 times per week
- Music class 2 times per week
- Daily speech therapy
- Daily checking of hearing aids and cochlear implants

Our NYSSD Audiologist provides:
- Regular Audiological Evaluations
- Monitors Cochlear implants and hearing aides.
- Collaboration with your child’s audiologist to ensure Cochlear Implant mapping and hearing aid programming is up to date.
