Early Learning Center - PK - 3rd grade

NYSSD Staff works closely with parents to provide an integrated learning environment. We work together with parents to reach their child’s communication and educational goals.

  • Language-rich program provided by an academic team with vast experience working with students with significant hearing loss

  • Program driven supports provided by the NYSSD Pupil Services Team

Total Communication Program

  • The Total Communication incorporates spoken English, ASL, and other communication systems based on each child’s primary mode of communication.
  • ASL instruction
  • Deaf peers & Deaf adults as role models

Both of Our Programs Offer

  • Small Class sizes
  • Acoustically appropriate classrooms
  • Sound field and personal FM systems
  • Physical education 3 times per week
  • Music class 2 times per week
  • Daily speech therapy
  • Daily checking of hearing aids and cochlear implants

Our NYSSD Audiologist provides:

  • Regular Audiological Evaluations
  • Monitors Cochlear implants and hearing aides.
  • Collaboration with your child’s audiologist to ensure Cochlear Implant mapping and hearing aid programming is up to date.
