Allocations, Poverty Data, and Student Counts

2024-2025 ALLOCATIONS

Title I, Part A:

As of the 2018-2019 school year, the 鶹 (鶹 or “the Department”) will be utilizing different fund codes and project numbers for Title I, Part A and Title I, Part D. Creating separate budgets and budget narratives for funds used under Title I, Part A will better enable School Districts, Charter Schools, Special Act School Districts, and the Department to ensure that funds generated under each program are used effectively and appropriately on behalf of the students the programs are intended to serve.

Please note that allocations generated for services to students served in Institutions for the Neglected should continue to be included within the Title I, Part A program budget and budget narrative.

The Title I, Part A allocations are based on the preliminary eligible child count numbers.

Title I, Part D:

As of the 2018-2019 school year, the 鶹 (鶹 or “the Department”) established a unique fund code and project numbers for LEAs that are awarded funds under Title I, Part D of the Every Student Succeeds Act. Creating separate budgets and budget narratives for funds used under Title I, Part D will better enable School Districts, Special Act School Districts, and the Department to ensure that funds generated to provide services to students served in Institutions for the Delinquent across New York State are used effectively and appropriately on behalf of students.

Please note that allocations generated for services to students served in Institutions for the Neglected should continue to be included within the Title I, Part A program budget and budget narrative.

The Title I, Part D allocations are based on the preliminary eligible child count numbers.

Title IV, Part A:

In 2024-2025, the 鶹 (鶹 or “the Department”) will award Title IV, Part A funds to local educational agencies (LEAs) via an allocational process consistent with the requirements of Section 4105(a) of the Every Student Succeeds Act. Title IV, Part A funds will be allocated to all LEAs that received a Title I Part A allocation in 2023-2024. By statute, each LEA will receive an allocation of at least $10,000 in 2024-2025. The Title IV, Part A Student Support and Academic Enrichment (SSAE) program is a newly authorized program under subpart 1 of Title IV, Part A.The intended goals are to increase the capacity of SEAs, LEAs, and local communities in three Content Areas to:

  1. provide all students with access to a well-rounded education;
  2. improve school conditions for student learning; and
  3. improve the use of technology in order to improve the academic achievement and digital literacy of all students.

LEAs may apply for Title IV, Part A funds as a single applicant, as the lead member of a consortium, or as a member of a consortium. LEAs and consortiums with allocations greater than $30,000 must use a minimum of 20% of their total allocation to both Well-Rounded Educational Opportunities AND Safe and Healthy Students content areas and allocate a portion of funds towards the Effective Use of Technology. LEAs may use no more than a maximum of 15% of funds allotted to Effective Use of Technology for equipment and infrastructure. An LEA may reserve up to 2% of its Title IV Part A allocation for direct administrative costs associated with carrying out allowable activities.
